The Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Service and Data Intelligence Application Branch of China Information Association of TCM Established
To promote the modernization and industrialization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), ensure the inheritance of TCM, and foster talent cultivation, as well as to facilitate the transformation of TCM scientific and technological achievements into new productive forces, the founding ceremony and the first academic seminar of TCM Science and Technology Service and Data Intelligence Application Branch of the China Information Association of TCM were successfully held in Beijing on November 18.
The conference invited key figures such as Wu Gang, former Deputy Director of the National Administration of TCM and President of the China Information Association for TCM; Zhu Jiaqing, former Deputy Director of the Administrative Service Bureau of the National Administration of TCM, Vice President, and Executive Secretary-General of the China Information Association of TCM; Rui Yuehua, former Party Secretary and Director of the Hubei Securities Regulatory Bureau of the China Securities Regulatory Commission; Wang Yanping, former Party Secretary, Director, and Chief Researcher of the Institute of Basic Clinical Medicine of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences; as well as experts and scholars from the TCM field, financial investment professionals, and media guests. The meeting was hosted by Liu Zhahua from the Institute of Basic Theory of TCM, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.

Wu Gang emphasized that in the era of digital and information development, TCM faces new opportunities and challenges. It is an important task for the TCM industry to improve TCM science and technology services, promote the transformation of TCM scientific achievements, and integrate intelligent data applications. The establishment of the Branch will gradually establish a complete technical system that aligns with the characteristics and transformation patterns of the TCM industry. From technological research and development to the promotion of achievements, this will provide strong support for scientific and technological services, further improving the scientific and technological level of TCM and promoting the high-quality development of the TCM industry.
Wang Yanping stated that TCM is currently in a stage of rapid development. We must create a technological, innovation, talent, and industrial highland for the transformation of TCM achievements. It is essential to improve the innovation development model of TCM and promote the integration of data intelligence applications and technologies. The Branch should unite and rely on people of insight from various industries with an open and inclusive mindset. While utilizing modern evaluation methods, we must also fully respect thousands of years of experience, organically combining traditional and modern TCM, promoting mutual supplementation and coordinated development of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, and providing higher-quality health services for the people.

TCM science and technology achievement transformation project database has been released
At this conference, 30 TCM science and technology achievement transformation projects were officially released. Duan Qingxin, founding partner of Beijing Innoweixun Technology Service Co., Ltd., introduced the TCM science and technology achievement transformation project database and the first batch of projects included in the database.
During the “New TCM Professionals” program launch session, Li Yixi, Chief Planner of China National Radio, stated that the “New TCM Professionals” program defines a development model based on “industry + technology + finance + communication”. This model aims to foster the growth of leading talents in various fields of TCM, grounded in industry practices and new productivity.
Additionally, the conference initiated the “Diverse Integration, Collaborative Innovation, and Service for Win-Win” Action Initiative for the High-Quality Transformation of TCM Science and Technology Achievements. This initiative, in collaboration with various TCM industry organizations, aims to contribute to the intelligent transformation of TCM technology and the integration of TCM science and industry.
During the academic seminar, 10 distinguished speakers from TCM research, universities, medical institutions, and the TCM industry, as well as the financial sector, delivered insightful presentations. They engaged in in-depth discussions on the application of new technologies, methods, and standards in the high-quality transformation of TCM achievements. The speakers shared valuable experiences and insights based on their practical experiences, exploring how TCM science and technology services can assist in upgrading the TCM industry.

Liang Qifeng gave a presentation titled “Technology Services Promoting the Transformation and Upgrading of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry”

Shi Baoming gave a presentation titled “Innovative Collaboration Models Between Pharmaceutical Enterprises and Research Institutes in the Field of R&D”

In addition, the conference also hosted a roundtable discussion on the theme of “Experience in the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements and Innovation in Models”. Six experts and scholars from industries such as TCM, finance and investment, industry, and media engaged in in-depth discussions on topics like the R&D of intelligent TCM products and the integration of industry-university-research. They shared their insights and perspectives, focusing on industry hotspots, leading academic frontiers, and promoting the industrialization process of TCM.

In the future, the Branch will focus on the transformation of TCM scientific and technological achievements and the revitalization of the TCM industry. Starting from the health needs of the people and the development needs of the industry, it will strive to ensure the practical transformation of TCM scientific and technological achievements, create value, and achieve win-win cooperation. The association aims to contribute to the overall goal of a healthy China and make persistent efforts in building a new pattern for the integrated development of TCM.
